Eastern Oregon Museum Youth History Camp 2023

2023 Youth History Camp was a great success! More than 40 campers showed up each day for a week in early June ready to learn about our local history. The EO Museum will again host its popular youth history camp in 2024.

A big thank you to our instructors: The Baker County Rockhound Group, EOU GO STEM, The Lost Dutchman’s Mining Association, The Baker County Cattlewomen, The Union/Baker County Threadbenders, Ranger Casey Taylor and The Bureau of Land Management National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, Students from North Powder High School, Dutch-oven chefs Ken Bain and Brad Phillips, Janis Hill, Betsy Nedrow, and the numerous volunteers who helped throughout the week.

Mark your calendars for early June 2024 as the EO Museum plans another exciting summer youth history camp.  Campers in 3rd– 6th grade are encouraged to participate. Stay-tuned!

Our many thanks to the Buerkel-Zoellner Foundation and The First Presbyterian Church of Baker City!

BLM Ranger Casey Taylor provides history campers with a hands-on demonstration of animals Oregon trail settlers might have encountered.
